Since this is a happy blog, I've refrained from complaining these past few months about the gradual demise of our espresso machine. Our old faithful Pasquini starting ailing about a year ago. Ben sent it out to California to be repaired and it worked for a few months before conking out again. It was sent back for more repairs and came home to work again for a few months before giving up the ghost one more time.
Ben took a breather and spent a few months thinking about what to do next. Try again to fix the old machine or buy a new one? While Ben pondered the options we suffered without our morning lattes.
Okay, "suffered" is a bit extreme. We did somehow manage to have a happy life without our morning coffees. Ben switched to tea and I used Starbucks good instant coffee to make an iced coffee shake each morning. But I missed those good strong lattes, and I especially missed the morning ritual of making them.
So I was pleased when Ben announced that he had bought a new machine, and tickled pink when it arrived Thursday. It's a gleaming beauty!
And it makes killer espresso.
Oh, so good. What a great way to start a morning.
