Let it snow!
I’ve been on pins and needles the last two days as I watched the changing weather forecasts for the storm we are now having. First we were told we’d get a few inches of snow, then we were told just rain, but late last night the verdict was for 6-10 inches of heavy, wet snow. It’s very hard to predict snowfall in the metropolitan D.C. area because this area is so large and has so many physical features --like the Chesapeake Bay to our east and the Blue Ridge mountains to our west--that affect the weather in specific locations.
There was snow earlier this morning, followed by rain, and now it is snowing again (I think). We’re told it will get colder as the day progresses and it will snow all day and night. We’ll see. It's hard to believe since it was so warm yesterday.
In any case, everything is closed today in anticipation of the nasty weather and the three of us are all home. We are happily anticipating a cozy day of naps, reading, homework, cleaning, games and movie watching. It's so nice that the major snowfall is happening during the day so we can enjoy watching it as it comes down.
But first Paul and I had to “make something” together, so he showed me how to use Snagit to capture and decorate a news article about the snowstorm, and we experimented with using some free fonts from www.dafont.com Just the kind of thing we don’t have much time for on a regular busy day!
