It's raining here at the beach this morning and I'm quite cozy sitting on our second story Victorian porch watching the world go by. Our vacation timing was perfect since we are scheduled to check out and head back home in an hour.
The other night we had dinner at Louisa's, a cute little restaurant that we last ate at many years ago. Back then we had a memorable meal of crab cakes with the best tartar sauce, and on every visit since we've tried to eat there again. But Louisa's is very popular and very small, only about eight tables, doesn't take reservations until after 4:00 and only for that day, AND is always closed on Tuesdays when we are usually in town. So we have been continually frustrated in our desire to eat there. But this trip we finally got in!
We had a good time but Louisa's has grown more modern, with an interest in healthy and simple, so while our entrees were delicious, the sides consisted of plain brown rice and a cold cabbage salad which Ben thought was inventive and I thought was not. I spiced my sides up with an order of sesame noodles with peanut sauce, and we enjoyed our conversation with the couple at the next table (only three inches away), so all was well.
I've loved having our very own porch, just perfect for enjoying wine and people watching,
