Homemade Pizza

Paul has three friends here for a sleepover tonight. I made a pizza dough recipe from the River Cottage Family Cookbook and then each child formed their pizza dough into a pie, covered it with sauce, sprinkled on some shredded mozzarella, and, in some cases, pepperoni. Since each pizza had to be cooked separately, it took about an hour to have dinner, but they shared each others pizzas as they were cooked and the whole process was very entertaining for everyone. The dough was a white bread dough and was really very wonderful.

The weather tonight is beautifully warm and the promised rain has held off, so we went out for a night hike down to the nearby pond and across the street to the playground. I had bought everyone glow sticks so they were easy to keep track of. Although some of the kids weren't so sure about the idea of walking around at night, even with flashlights and glow sticks and adults, in the end they had a great time running around in the dark and being silly kids.
