It's been rainy or at the very least gloomy and cloudy for what seems like weeks and weeks, so I was surprised to find that my Mom's green beans had matured enough to pick. She had just a short row so I only got a handful, but she was delighted. She does love her own home grown green beans! When I got home, I checked my own garden, squishing around between the plants to find just enough peas for dinner. And later Paul showed me that the huckleberries and blueberries were starting to come in and we braved the early evening insects to pick a small bowlful. Yum......
I live in Maryland, too ~ all this rain has been good for our garden, despite the fact that I miss the sun! We've picked about as many beans as your mother has, plus asparagus & raspberries, too!
