Catching a Breath

Today was a day to catch a breath -- straighten up the house, mow the lawn, weed the garden, do the wash, bring in some groceries -- before heading out tomorrow for another quick trip to the beach before going up to Hershey Park and Dutch Wonderland at the end of the week.

While I was mowing I saw that another of Paul's sunflowers had bloomed, this one a lovely reddish bronze color.



And when I weeded the garden, I saw that his carrots are finally big enough to pull!



Back in the house cleaning up the photos on the cameras I realized that I hadn't shared a photo of Paul's birthday cake. He wanted lots of chocolate and a big "nine" on the top. At the last minute he also decided he just had to have Oreos as well so I told him to "lay 'em on." The top circle layer was a yellow cake and the bottom was, of course, chocolate. It tasted yummy!
