This should be interesting
Unfortunately, that's my right hand, inexpertly bandaged to keep the air off of what I'm fairly sure are 2nd degree burns which I got by grabbing firmly onto the handle of a pan that just came out of a 450 degree oven. Thankfully Paul and Bryan were in bed so they didn't have to hear my cries of pain. Yes, it hurt but in the one minute I had before it started to really, really hurt I jumped on the Mayo website and got some first aid instructions. It said to put my hand in a bowl of cold water, which felt great, and to later apply a sterile bandage to keep the air off of the burn and to take some pain killers. Kudos to us for having said bandage and pills in the house, but have you ever tried opening and applying bandages and gauze tape when your dominant hand is out of commission, or open a childproof bottle of pills? (Ben was still at work, so I was coping on my own.)
The pills and a small glass of wine have eased the pain for now, and I'm hoping the morning will bring bluer skies. If not, this is going to be very interesting!
