Hotels on Boardwalk

Paul beat me again in Monopoly tonight. Over the past week or so, he's played three full games and won every one. He started to win another game, but the game ended when his opponent flipped the board over. No, that wasn't me. I used to do that when I was a kid, but I'm grown up now and adult enough to be a decent loser, though I hate every painful moment. The trouble with Monopoly is that it takes so long to lose, and you know you're going down the whole time. Once your opponent gets some good property and some money, and you haven't, you know it's the beginning of the end.

I dislike Monopoly so much that I wouldn't play with anyone except Paul, and only then because he wants so badly to play it. Paul makes it more fun, however, by being a delightful winner. He's so happy and good natured, so full of himself as he takes all your money, that you have to smile with him even while while you're gritting your teeth.
