Happy New Year!
We're looking forward to a fun celebration tonight --an adult dinner out, followed by a kid-centered party--but first we had to work. While Ben went out shopping for yummy food and drink, Paul and I cleaned up. The final Christmas decorations came down (except the tree and the outside lights), the last present clutter picked up, and the "public rooms" vacuumed. Then we had the fun task of decorating for the big night. We covered up the painting over the mantel and put up a more appropriate picture.
Then we decorated the kitchen window with a festive banner which I printed from Love the Day, (found via TidyMom). This printable and others were made available as part of an effort to publicize Operation Shower, a charitable effort that looks very fun and rewarding. Check it out!
Finally, we spent quite a long time blowing up balloons that will be released from the balloon net when the clock strikes midnight. That is, if Paul and his chums can restrain themselves while the adults are out to dinner! That rip cord is mighty tempting to a ten-year old!
Hope you have fun tonight, whether type of celebration you have planned.
