This was the view from the deck of the cabin.
After visiting Spruce Knob, the highest point in West Virginia, we walked around Spruce Knob Lake.
While I was admiring them, Paul suddenly called out, "Bring the camera, Mom! Here's a sight you don't see every day!' And sure, enough, I've never seen so many butterflies swarming together on the ground. I think these are swallowtails. After a while, Paul approached them and they all flew off, a very pretty sight.
We also saw this big mud turtle in the road and stopped to protect him as he made his way to the other side.
It was a relaxing weekend and a great kickoff to what I hope will be a relaxing summer.
