We had a good, long rain last night, just what the garden needed. It left the deck soaked, but this afternoon's promised sunshine will soon dry it out.
Yesterday was a day full of errands. I finally got my jewelry out of the safe deposit box where I had stashed it during our porch renovation and vacation. I got some groceries into my Mom's house, so she'd have something to eat when she goes home today from rehab (more on that exciting development later)! I handled a lot of paperwork related to hiring a care agency to manage Mom's care at home for the next few weeks. And I went into work and got the library ready to be occupied by the school's summer camp program next week.
Paul and I missed the company of his cousins yesterday, as they headed on to the next phase of their trip. As I looked over the photos we had taken, I realized how much fun we all had doing the simplest things.
Like when the goose entertained the kids by chasing them at the Old Maryland Farm.
Or when the male peacocks at that same farm all opened up their feathers at the same time, giving us an entrancing show of their beauty.
And even playing games and watching TV seemed more fun with the cousins.
Luckily, Paul's friend Adam is here today to keep him company as we move Grandma back home. It should be an exciting day.
