Return to Cape May

Our visit to Cape May was wet, quick, and lots of fun. It rained most of the day Sunday, and much of our drive was through sheets of pouring rain. It rained so hard and fast that the flat New Jersey peninsula was overwhelmed and we were rerouted several times due to flooding. Cape May itself was sopping wet. As we parked our car in the city lot, we saw a car stall out in a street flooded with ankle deep water. We walked over to see if we could help the driver and found her busily calling AAA.

Given the rainy weather, I found these rubber ducks quite amusing.

But Monday morning the sun was out, making it a great time for walking and then hitting the beach for a few hours before the next round of stormy weather.

Paul was in Busch Gardens, so Ben and I had a thoroughly grown up time, staying at our old "b.c." (before children) haunt, The Carroll Villa, and enjoying dinner and breakfast at it's restaurant, The Mad Batter.

It was fun to be back, and made us remember all the good times we've had in Cape May. Whenever we've been there --whether by ourselves, or with Paul, or with friends, or with family members --we've always enjoyed our stay.
