This Weekend

This weekend....

My sister in-law, Dawn, and I had a fun afternoon in Annapolis on Saturday.  We went to lunch at Carroll's Creek,   visited several jewelers to admire their offerings, and bought clothes at Chico's.   A storm blew up, the skies darkened dramatically and it rained steadily for a couple of hours.  Meanwhile, back at home the menfolk were hanging out with the boys, kicking back and relaxing.  The storm hit there with much more power, knocking out the power for a minute, and causing lots of small branches to come down from our big trees.  We all safely met up in Annapolis; the boys to an "open gym" session at First Class Gymnastics and the adults for a wonderful French restaurant.  It was a great evening.

This morning dawned clear and sunny, with a very welcome lack of humidity.  We went for a walk and then came home and opened the windows to let the fresh air in.  It was clearly going to be a beautiful day.

Later Paul had a private karate lesson.  He's working towards his fighting stripe, the last stripe he needs to qualify for the blue belt exam.  Since the power was off in the waiting room (whether from the storm or for some other reason, I don't know) I waited in the gym during the lesson, which gave me a ring-side seat, so to speak.  It was fun to watch.
