High in the Alps

We took the Bernina Express high into the Alps yesterday, leaving behind the heat of Italy and entering cool mountain air, which was a very welcome change. This train is designed for enjoying the scenery and known for its ability to take you up and over the Bernina Pass in just two and a half hours. We'll spend the day up here at the luxurious Hotel Walther doing light hiking (except Ben, who is scheduled to do a serious hike with a guide) and riding the funicular.
