Kayaking

We went out kayaking again yesterday, this time for an early evening group paddle on Harness Creek and the South River.

The day had been one of those rare perfect ones for being outside and all day long it had called to me to come join the fun.

We took Paul's friend, Adam, who hadn't ever kayaked before. He did great, even out in the chop of the river.

The rule was "no swimming," but, of course if you fell out of your kayak you couldn't help but get wet.  Paul tried using his kayak as a paddle board with predictable results.  His motto is, "If you don't get soaked, you aren't having enough fun."

Here we are out on the river.  You can't tell how choppy it was, but that's why we're holding hands!

Afterwards we joined other sailers and boaters at the Boatyard Bar and Grill in Eastport for drinks and dinner, right across Spa Creek from Annapolis.

The sun was just setting, making the sky behind the Naval Academy dome a pretty pink.
