The Arrival of Fall

Friday marked the first day of Fall and right on schedule our first bout of cool weather arrived with it.  Our temperatures only reached the low 60's this weekend and were accompanied by a steady rain.  Ben did a big hike up in the high country on Thursday and reported that the Aspens had changed to their beautiful gold and on my neighborhood walks I notice that the trees are beginning to show their autumn colors.  We've found our fleece pullovers, made the first homemade chicken soup of the season, and are enjoying the cosy warmth of our gas fireplace.   Welcome Fall!

  1. I welcome fall with open arms. Even in our "season-less" Southern California climate there are subtle changes. Nights are cooler, and mornings crisp. We get some of our hottest weather in October/November, but the nights are blessedly cool.
