For his birthday Ben got a 5" snowfall! May 21 is pretty late for a good size snow, and this one made the record books for being the latest measurable snowfall in the last ten years. (The latest measurable snow in the Denver area was on June 1, 1919.)
Like most spring storms this one was heavy and wet, making the trees and bushes bend over with the weight of the snow. We lost a mid-size branch off a tree, but everything else seems to be coming back as the snow melts.
Ben's actual birthday celebration took place up at the Flagstaff House Restaurant. It was a lovely evening and we all had a great time with John and Dawn.
