Return from the Land of the Lobster
We're back from our two week car trip up to Acadia National Park in Maine, via Lake Placid and the White Mountains. We took along Paul's life-long friend, Bryan, and, of course, traveled in our new Subaru Outback, both of which made the trip especially pleasurable.
The lobsters made a big impression this trip, both eating them and learning about them. Did you know that they can swim very fast, moving backwards by slapping their bodies and tails? We could hardly tear ourselves away from watching them as they tried to swim around their holding tank.
Our interest in watching the live lobsters didn't keep us from enjoying the cooked ones! My, but they were good, taken straight from the Gulf of Maine, popped into the steamer, and put right on our plates.
