Eighty-nine

There's no getting around it; when you're eighty-nine, you're old. Getting old isn't easy, but most people agree that it's better than the alternative. That's looking at things positively.

So if you turn eighty-nine in the hospital instead of at home, you try to focus on the positive:

A hug from one of your many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A homemade cake from one of your two "lovely and caring" daughters.

The many beautiful cards and flowers you received from your children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends.

Even in the hospital, a birthday can be a pretty good day.
