We went up to Lititz, Pennsylvania, on Saturday to visit some friends who moved there a few years ago. Margi had been Paul's day-care provider from the time he turned two until the end of Kindergarten when her family relocated up in the Amish countryside near Lancaster. We've stayed in touch and Paul and her two boys, Bryan and Robbie, are still good friends. Don't they look happy to be together?
On the way up to Lititz we stopped by Columbia, Pennsylvania, where the big dairy, Turkey Hill, has a visitor's center with this huge cow in front of it.
Lititz is a lovely town with a lively Main Street which was all decked out for Christmas.
Margi and I had fun shopping at a wonderful store called Clementine's, which is right off of Main Street.
Later Ben and I and Margi and her husband went out for an excellent dinner at Lilly's in nearby Ephrata while the boys watched movies back at the house under the watchful eye of Margi's two daughters.
The next day we all went to a local tree farm and found the perfect Christmas tree to cut down and take home.
The tree farm is owned by a friend of Margi's and we all enjoyed being out on this lovely property. There was a tractor-drawn wagon to take you to the fields, a springhouse, a barn, and a proper swing hanging from a big tree.
It was a great visit!
