Around here....
We are still feeling happy about how well Paul did at the Solo Festival. Playing before a judge is a daunting prospect, and Paul was one of only about thirty students from his school that chose to do so this year. He worked hard and played well, and we were tickled for him. In this photo, he's warming up in the big, noisy, woodwinds warm-up room.
We're starting to tick off the myriad of tasks that need to be done before we can move to Boulder next year. We've now got a bank account out there...
...and we had a home inspection done as a first step to putting our house on the market. (No surprises found; yeah!)
We were sorry to hear that the groundhog did not see his shadow the other day, meaning that spring will come early this year. I would so like to have at least one good snowstorm!
In honor of Groundhog Day I read this clever book to my little ones in Story Time on Monday. Not only does it explain the groundhog tradition, but it weaves in cute scenes from Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas, which the groundhog sees when he just can't go to sleep one year.
Ben & I snuck a little "couple time" in on Sunday while Paul was at his cousin's laser tag birthday party. We had intended to hang out at the laser dome visiting with the grownups, but it clearly was too noisy and too crowded for that. So when we were invited to "come back at 6:00" we took full advantage, using our wonderful phone apps to find a great Thai restaurant and have a beer and an early dinner. You've got to seize the moment!
