A Great Start to Celebrating Jean's Big Birthday

My sister Jean's 60th birthday is this year, and she has quite a lot of fun activities planned to mark this milestone.  For the big day, which is next Friday, she'll be in Salt Lake City to see the second and third rounds of the March Madness games out at the University of Utah --and I'm going with her! Then in April she's going to Disney World-- and I'm going with her!  And in June she's going to Italy--and, guess what?--I'm going with her!

So of course when her family decided to have a surprise party for her last night down in Southern Maryland, I had to go down to help celebrate.  My sweet husband and son, who both also love Jean, drove down with me.  We all had a good time seeing Jean, catching up with her extended family, and visiting with my nieces, Jennifer and Sharon, and their families.

Jean was sure surprised; she thought she was going to a cooking class, but when she came in the classroom door, there we all were.  If you'd like to check out a quick video of this, go to Vimeo and use the password "rice."

Paul enjoyed seeing his cousin Mitchell again and meeting the new baby, Lyndsey.

Doesn't Jean look great? Aren't I lucky to have such a fun-loving sister?
