September 30: What’s the Buzz?

When I awoke this morning I was puzzled about why there was so much noise in the neighborhood.  I heard music, people talking as they walked by our house, and lots of cars.  Seemed like something was up.

When I walked Turbo I found out what the buzz was all about.   CU was playing against USC at 10:00 and the crowds were gathering.  As I approached The Hill I was interested to see groups of people milling around the streets, partying in the yards of the student housing, and hanging around the restaurants. This was at 8:30 in the morning! Clearly this was going to be a big game!

I don't follow college football, but I looked online and found that USC was considered a way better team than the Buffs and a rout was predicted.  Oh, too bad for all those excited fans over on The Hill.  

But hours later I heard a big roar from the stadium so I checked the score and found that CU had rallied in the 4th quarter and had ended up losing by only 7 points.  The final score was 48-41, not bad at all considering the odds.
