Family Dinner at Grandma's
Last night I was at Grandma's for a family visit and dinner. "Grandma" is actually my Mother, but she is known as "Grandma" to her many grand- and great-grand children, so her children frequently call her that as well. At eighty-five Grandma can still cook a fabulous old-fashioned dinner, complete with pot roast, mashed potatoes, acorn squash, real gravy and homemade lemon meringue pie. Yummy!
Besides the great dinner, I enjoyed the company of my extended family, including my sister and her husband, and their grown daughter and her five children. We are a lucky family in that we really do like seeing each other. Bradley, being held in the photo by his sister, Emily, is Grandma's latest great-grand-son. I'd have to call her to ask her how many she has now, but she could tell you in a second. I guess that's one thing that beloved Grandmas have in common.
