Kitchen Renovation: Getting Through

We entering our third week of the kitchen renovation. While the results are exciting, the day-to-day reality of living through the process is getting a tad irritating. Our food prep and cleanup is done on our small dining room table and in the bathroom sink, so the smallest task looms large. Poor Paul had the audacity to ask for his bagel to be toasted with butter this morning, and you'd think he had asked for the moon, the way I reacted. "You mean you want me to get out the toaster, find a plug, get a real knife out to spread the cold butter....?" Well, yes, please, Mom.

And working around these ten-foot long molding strips has been an every-day irritation. The computer I write this blog on is behind this chair to the right and it's quite the obstacle course to get to it without knocking these ungainly strips all down, along with the fan blades, which are stacked on the storage boxes which are stacked on the floor behind it.

But we're getting through it.
