Fresh Eggs

When I picked up Paul at his friend Evan's house today, Evan's Granddad, Davey, gave me these wonderful fresh chicken eggs. Davey's chicken eggs tend to be small but very tasty, with thick golden yolks. I have to specify that they are from chickens, since Davey raises not only chickens but turkeys and guinea foul and, of course, they lay eggs also. While we chatted, Watson, one of the male turkeys, strutted around showing off his beautiful feathers. He was accompanied by his faithful companion, a guinea foul, who follows Watson around like a little puppy dog. The two of them are very funny to see together. I think all of Davey's barnyard flock are beautiful, but their sharp beaks scare me so I try to keep my distance while admiring their vivid feathers.
