A while back I decided that I'd start going to a gym right after work once the new school year began. This required some preparation since it's been some time since I went to the gym regularly. I needed new shoes and workout clothes and had to find a convenient and reasonably priced gym. I got a good rate at the Gold's Gym that's just minutes from my house and school and I started there yesterday.
Gold's is heaven compared to gyms I've been to before, which certainly makes the whole endeavor more fun. It's big and clean and has tons of different machines and workout areas. There's a"cinema cardio" room where you can watch a movie on a big screen while you use the cycle, treadmill, or elliptical machines. I worked out in there yesterday and it was very cool! There's also a "Lady Gold" area set aside just for women. At first I thought that was kind of dorky but today I appreciated having a quiet place away big guys clanking weights around to lay down and stretch in. There's a pleasant "kid's room" where Paul can play video games, watch movies, or roll around on tumbling mats while I'm working out. He'll probably stay in after-care at school or go to a friend's house until I can pick him up, but this will be a nice "plan B" for him.
It felt great to work out today. I'm so glad that I'm off to a good start this school year!
