Goodbye Summer!

The bees are still buzzing around and the weather is a beautiful 80 degrees, but it's time to save goodbye to summer since tomorrow is the first day of school!

I don't count the last day of school as the first day of summer. Summer for me usually begins about mid-May when I start sitting out on the screened porch for a while each night and life begins to slow down a bit. But the first day of school, with it's accompanying schedule and routine, definitely marks the end of carefree summer days.

I've worked the past two days at school getting the library ready to reopen, getting AV equipment back into classrooms, and attending some staff training. So I've started to ease into the structure of the new school year. But tomorrow, when Paul goes back, we add all the structure that marks his school days, and that's more challenging.

Meanwhile, Paul's bag of school supplies is packed up by the door, we've managed to hunt up a couple of somewhat decent looking uniform shirts from last year -- we clearly need to order new ones! -- and have two brand new uniform shorts hemmed to the right length. Paul has even promised to wash his feet tomorrow morning for the occasion!
