Plantation Shutters

Ben's Dad has Plantation Shutters in his houses and I've always loved them. When we needed new window coverings for our bedroom I thought long and hard about using shutters, but couldn't justify the expense. For the cost, I wanted them in a more public room than a bedroom. I thought about them for the living room, but they didn't seem quite right.

But when I repainted the entry room last month and took down the well-worn cafe curtains that had hung there for several years, I realized that shutters would be perfect. The helpful people at Next Day Blinds got the measuring and ordering done before we went on vacation so the shutters could be made while we were away. Four days after we came back, the new shutters were installed. Aren't they perfect?

We had also removed an old wood bench that had been in the entry room for years, and needed a replacement. But it's a small space and many benches I found were too long. Yesterday, in a stroke of inspiration, I moved a little white bench from Pier One from the front porch to the entry room.

Yes? Yes.
Its' so neat when these things work out so easily, isn't it?
