A Whirlwind Weekend

I've had a wonderful weekend, full of visiting my extended family. On Friday I flew out to Cincinnati to celebrate my nephew's wedding. Here's snapshot of Dan and Laura; don't they look like two people in love?

All of my siblings were there-- my two brothers and my sister--as well as my mother, and we posed for a rare photograph together. Several of my nieces and nephews were there along with their children, including Amy, who came all the way from Idaho. I hardly ever get to see her and her husband, so that was a special treat, and I got to meet their daughter, Sarah, who is my newest Grand-niece. Of course, she was as cute as can be. My brother's wives were there, and being with them is always a pleasure. We all had a great time catching up, admiring Dan and Laura's home, and enjoying each other's company.

I flew back on Saturday afternoon, getting home just in time to go to dinner with Ben's Dad, who was in town from Indianapolis. Seeing him and his wife is also a rare treat which we always enjoy. Saturday night was an "adult's only" dinner at Capitol Grill, but today we had a big gathering with all the kids at our house. Ben outdid himself as a host by getting fabulous lobsters, and the weather was so pleasant that we ate them outside in the cool breezy air.

Just as everyone was getting ready to leave, we snapped this great picture of all the menfolk.

It was a busy but really fun weekend. I'm so lucky to like my extended family so much!
