I took Paul and two of his friends down to the Kennedy Center yesterday to see a dance production based on the children's book, Harold and the Purple Crayon. We had won four tickets in a school raffle and were happy to use them since we don't get down to the Kennedy Center very often. Although the show turned out to be a bit young to these boys, and a bit odd to me, we enjoyed getting out and visiting one of the city's most well-known sights. It was a beautiful day and the terrace was a particularly fine place to be. I am always surprised by the unexpected sight of weeping willows right outside the Grand Foyer.
And on a clear and warm day like yesterday, the boats going up and down the Potomac River were plentiful and fun to watch.
Our good friend, Raymond, is here for the weekend and today we all went to the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center, otherwise known as the Dulles Air and Space Museum in Virginia. The weather was again exceptionally beautiful, and we all enjoyed being outside the building as well as being inside with the exhibits.
Coming from Colorado, Ray has appreciated the wonderful fall colors that we still have. His admiration reminded me of how pretty a fall we have had this year and to enjoy these last few days before the leaves are all gone.
I love going down there! When I was born, my parents lived on Connecticut Avenue and my mom shopped at the Safeway at the Watergate! Many, many, many years ago!!!!! Glad you had a wonderful time!!!!
