Can you believe that it's October? Not only does October bring fall foliage and Halloween, it brings Fire Prevention Week, which at our school is the first week of the month. So today for Story Time I pretended to be Captain Ison from the fire department and read Stop, Drop, and Roll by Margery Cuyler.
I've read this before, but this is the first year I dressed up, and the kids seemed quite tickled by the novelty of it. They were even more tickled when I actually demonstrated the stop, drop, and roll technique. I guess they don't see their teachers rolling around on the floor very often!
