A Spring Weekend

I was at home all weekend and perfectly happy.  The weather was just right for opening doors and windows, weeding the flower beds, taking the laptop out to the patio to work on the yearbook, and  doing assorted chores around the house.

I was accompanied by a chorus of bird songs; cardinals, woodpeckers, nuthatches, and a red-winged blackbird all sang their hearts out over the weekend. They continue now, as a matter of fact, even though Monday morning has opened the week with a gentle rain.

For Sunday dinner Ben made a very good paella, which we shared not only with Mrs. D. and Warren after she taught Paul's flute lesson, but with our next door neighbor, Lisa.  It was a bit of a party, and was a nice end to a leisurely weekend.
