Time to Say Goodbye

I'm sitting on a large lanai near Kailua-Kona on the Big Island in Hawaii thinking about this blog.  I've known for months that it's time to end it, but it's been very difficult to actually cut the cord.

My first post was 14 years ago when I was searching for a way to stay in touch with family members and to capture the day to day rhythm of my life.  The regular process of selecting and recording individual moments and key events was an absorbing and useful task which I generally enjoyed.  Each year I ordered a printed book of that year's posts, and I still love to go back and look through them and see how the years have flown.

But as technology evolved and my life changed, blogging became less and less attractive to me.  Breaking my arm two years ago put a five month stop to my blogging and when I renewed my writing I realized that I wasn't into anymore.  Recently I began a writing a more informal and personal daily journal, and that's working out much better.

So to anyone out there still checking in here, I'm doing great and enjoying life, but it's time to say goodbye and thanks for following me all these years!

  2. I will definitely miss you. I understand but I keep at it for the memory thing. Not sure regular journaling would be as satisfying without the accompanying pictures and ease of looking back. Many of my old blogger friends are falling off without a word and I fear for the worst so thank you for letting us know. Wishing you peace and joy in these troubling times.
