Let the Painting Begin!

The big painting job began at 7:30 this morning when Carlos (from El Salvador)  and Jeremiah (from Guatemala) began sanding and skimming our ceilings and priming the wallpapered walls.  With Ben's help I had packed up all the decorative plates that had been displayed on the walls and all the china and glassware in the china cabinet and bookshelves. Whew, what a job!  A little taste of what we'll face when we pack up to move west next year.

The pink wallpapered walls will be a medium beige and the blue walls a light beige. These neutral colors are said to appeal to potential buyers and we know we like them as well, since we have the very same colors in the upstairs hall! I think it's going to look fresh and modern.

When the fellows left today they moved all the furniture back so we can live in these rooms the next two days before the actual painting starts on Monday.  Of course I had to vacuum everything and the smell of the primer is a bit much, but at least we have some semblance of order for the weekend.
