It was a delightful surprise today at school when one of the classes of four-year-olds came parading through, waving their American flags and wearing the President Obama medallions they had made as the finale to their short study of the inauguration. The seventh and eight graders who were reading and studying in the library when the parade came through weren't quite sure what to make of this quiet but happy display of patriotism, and looked on with some bemusement. You never know what you'll see in the library!
