Halloween Sunday

My niece, Jennifer, and her family came up from Richmond for a few days and we all visited at Grandma's over Sunday dinner. Grandma says she's getting out of practice cooking for a lot of people, but when she sets a table like this, it's hard to believe. That's real pot roast, gravy, and homemade applesauce. It was so good eat, and also so good to have a family visit.

After a rest, we had Grandma's chocolate cake. The kids were pretty excited about the cute pumpkin she put on it.

When it got dark, Paul went over to Alex and Tommy's for their annual trick-or-treat session. Paul was a scary, bloody skeleton, Alex was a pirate, and Tommy was a Ninja. Their mother, Lorraine, always makes their costumes and does a great job. Her house looked pretty cool, too.

I've enjoyed October and all the Halloween decorations and fun. It's hard to believe that tomorrow is November 1st and that Thanksgiving will soon be here, with Christmas hot on its trail.
