The Washington Nationals are doing surprisingly well this season, so I was pleased to receive an invitation to attend a game from my friend, Lynne. Her husband had won "Diamond Club" tickets in a drawing at work, which meant we had fantastic seats with "all included" food. Imagine attendents walking around offering free food and drink like cracker jacks, beer, and Dove Bars all evening.
Besides the food and the fun company, it was a thrill to see players who I had been hearing about this season, including the rookie Bryce Harper who just walked up to the plate and whacked a home run his first time at bat Thursday night, starting off a streak of runs that ended in an 8-1 win for the Nats.
