Labor Day

Ben's cousin, Martin, and his family are visiting from Utah, staying at Ben's brother's house in Virginia this week.  They all came over this afternoon for a visit and picnic supper.   The star of the afternoon was little baby Christopher, who was quite entertaining.

Paul and his cousin Johnny had a lot of fun shooting their BB guns at a target in the field, using the porch railing as their brace.

John brought a big bottle of his homemade peach wine to share and we had pulled pork BBQ sandwiches, slow cooked green beans, my Mom's macaroni salad, and homemade coconut chocolate chip ice cream.  It was a great meal!

Just a few minutes ago we were sitting by the pond when we spotted a large frog with a bright green throat.   Paul promptly identified it as a bullfrog, which we verified with a quick search on Google Images.  I guess he didn't go to the Smithsonian Environmental Research camp for the past five years for nothing!   We all wondered if the bullfrog was from one of the many bullfrog tadpoles we had bought and put in the pond earlier this year.

Ben took this great picture of it using his new Nikon camera.
