Weekend Fun

Ben's father was in town this weekend and we had a pleasant adult family dinner (sans grandchildren) with him and his wife and Ben's two brothers at the Capitol Grill on Sunday night.  On Monday we hosted a family party at our house featuring lobsters and oysters, a treat to celebrate Ben's birthday which was last week.

...which were greatly appreciated by the oyster-lovers in the group.

Fire making was part of the entertainment for the kids...

... as were low-key fireworks (sparklers and poppers). 

John and Paul had a lot of fun together.  Here they are showing off their war wounds from biking and scootering.  What a bunch of tough boys!

It was a beautiful day and we all enjoyed each other's company.

The day before the party Ben climbed the big maple to replace the ropes on Paul's swing.    

He was pretty impressed with the frayed ropes he took down!
