Reaching Agreement

Congress finally reached an agreement and the shutdown is over.  I was impressed with the President's remarks today:

"And let's face it, the American people don’t see every issue the same way.  But that doesn’t mean we can't make progress.  And when we disagree, we don’t have to suggest that the other side doesn’t love this country or believe in free enterprise, or all the other rhetoric that seems to get worse every single year.  If we disagree on something, we can move on and focus on the things we agree on, and get some stuff done."

Ben and I had our own historic agreement yesterday when we accepted the counter offer for the house in Boulder we had found over the weekend.   We were both sure the counter would be too high, and were so excited to find that it wasn't!

So, assuming the inspection next Wednesday reveals no "deal-breakers," by mid-November we will own this great house on Rose Hill Drive.  I think it's so neat that we're leaving Daisy Lane and moving to Rose Hill Drive; it was just mean to be!

Here's the front facing Rose Hill.

Here's the side facing College Avenue.

The garage and entrance to the back (side) yard.

Here's a close up of the perennial bed looking the other way, towards Rose Hill Drive.

Across College Avenue is an elementary school with two grassed fields that people take their dogs to for romping after school is out...

..and down the avenue is Pioneer Cemetery, which I've always liked.  So we have a lot of open land on that side of the house.

Going left out of our house and up Rose Hill you get great views of the Flatirons as you walk towards Chautauqua Park.  We're told that in the winter, when the leaves drop, we'll get good views of the Flatirons from our bedroom balcony.

We are still pinching ourselves that we'll be living here!

  1. Mary! You bought a house!! How thrilling, but a little bit sad for me because that makes your move real. I'm so excited for you all. Are you considering moving sooner now?
