And Then There Were Three

My mother-in-Law, Suzanne, had three boys but no daughters. Ben was the first to marry, and she welcomed me warmly, being so happy to finally have a daughter. Ben's brothers weren't quite so lucky in love, and it was another twenty years before John found Dawn and married her. That same year Paul was born, and three years later Dawn and John had twin boys.

Suddenly there were three little boys in the family. How this happened is a story of miracles, my part of which I wrote about last year.

The wonder of it never pales. Dawn and I again shook our heads in amazement at our good fortune as we watched our boys play together at our Mother's Day lunch.
